Alanya Water Activities

Pro tips to help you make a pick

Local secrets to save you time and money.

1

Go Early in the Morning

Water activity stations on Alanya beaches get very busy between 11 AM and 3 PM. If you head to the beach before 10 AM, you will face shorter wait times, calmer sea conditions, and cooler temperatures. Most operators are set up and ready from 8:30 AM onwards.
2

Wear a Rash Guard or Old Swimwear

Activities like jet skiing, banana boat rides, and flyboarding involve a lot of water spray and physical contact with equipment. Wearing a rash guard protects your skin from sunburn and minor scrapes. Avoid wearing your best swimwear as it can get damaged.
3

Try a Package Deal for Better Value

Many operators on Alanya beach offer combo packages where you can do 3 or 4 activities together at a lower total price than booking each one separately. If you plan to try more than one activity in a day, ask about package options before paying for a single activity.

About Alanya Water Activities

Alanya's water activities range from jet skiing and parasailing to flyboarding and scuba diving. There are also calmer options like banana boat rides and boat tours along the coastline. Most packages include safety gear, a short training session, and an instructor. The warm Mediterranean waters make it a good spot for water sports from late spring through early autumn.

Interesting Facts (Fun Facts)

Discover hidden secrets and stories.

Flyboarding was only invented in 2011 by French water sports designer Franky Zapata. Within just a few years it became one of the most popular water activities on the beaches of Alanya, where calm and clear water makes it easier to learn.
The waters around Alanya have visibility of up to 20 metres on clear days, making it one of the better scuba diving spots on the Turkish coast. Several ancient anchors and ceramic fragments from old trade ships have been found on the seabed here.
When parasailing above Alanya beach, riders can reach heights of up to 150 metres. At that height, both the Alanya Castle on the cliff and the full stretch of the coastline are visible at the same time, something not possible from any point on land.
Alanya's Mediterranean waters maintain a warm temperature of around 26–28°C (79–82°F) in summer, making it one of the warmest swimming seas in all of Europe.
Cleopatra Beach in Alanya was rated one of the cleanest beaches in Turkey by the Blue Flag Programme. The sand on this beach is unusually fine and white because it was reportedly brought from Egypt as a gift for Cleopatra by Mark Antony.
