The Aspendos Theatre, just 30 minutes from Side, is 1,850 years old and still hosts live concerts. Its acoustics are so precise that a coin dropped on the stage can be heard from the back row of the 15,000-seat auditorium.

Pamukkale's white travertine terraces are formed by calcium-carbonate-rich thermal water at 36 °C flowing over cliffs for 400,000 years. The adjacent ancient city of Hierapolis has the largest necropolis, or cemetery, in Anatolia with over 1,200 tombs.

Green Canyon (Oymapınar Dam Lake) reaches depths of 130 metres. The water colour changes from emerald to turquoise depending on the mineral content of the seasonal run-off from the Taurus Mountains.
