Kemer is a coastal town on Turkey's Turquoise Coast backed by the Taurus Mountains and fronted by the Mediterranean. It's 42 km southwest of Antalya, and it combines pine-scented mountain air with some of the region's most pristine pebble beaches and hidden coves you can only reach by boat.

The marina is your starting point for yacht and boat tours, while the Beydağları National Park surrounding Kemer offers rafting, canyoning, and jeep safari adventures through untouched wilderness. The ancient Lycian cities of Phaselis and Olympos are within easy reach, with ruins spilling down to turquoise bays where you can literally swim among fallen columns. It's got a more relaxed atmosphere than the big Antalya resorts, which is exactly the point.

Most tour operators and hotels offer airport transfer services. Public buses run regularly between Antalya city centre and Kemer. The scenic coastal road passes through tunnels carved into the mountainside with great sea views.

Kemer enjoys a Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine. Summer from June to September brings temperatures of 30 to 38 degrees and warm sea perfect for water sports and boat tours. Spring from April to May and autumn from September to October are ideal for hiking and archaeological visits at a comfortable 22 to 28 degrees.

The sea is swimmable from May through November. Winter is mild but many tourist services run on reduced schedules.

Kemer's compact town centre is fully walkable. For longer distances, local dolmuş shared minibuses run frequently along the coast between Kemer, Çamyuva, Tekirova, and Göynük for a few Turkish Lira. Taxis are metered and affordable.

Water taxis and boat services connect Kemer Marina to nearby beaches and bays. Most tour operators include hotel pickup in their packages, so you won't need to sort out transport on your own.

Visit Phaselis at Sunset INSIDER

Göynük Canyon Is Unmissable MUST-DO

Just 15 minutes from Kemer, Göynük Canyon offers a dramatic half-day adventure. You wade through turquoise pools, climb over boulders, and zipline across the gorge. The water is emerald green and the canyon walls tower above you. It's one of the region's most photogenic experiences and far fewer tourists visit compared to the beaches.
Take a Boat Not a Bus TIP

Many of Kemer's best beaches and coves are only accessible by boat. Instead of driving between spots, book a day cruise or yacht tour that visits Phaselis Bay, Pirate Cave, and the secluded bays along the coast. You'll see more of the coastline in one day than a week of road trips.

Köprülü Canyon is about 90 minutes from Kemer and offers Turkey's best white-water rafting. The 14 km run through a dramatic gorge with Roman bridges is suitable for all ages over 10. Book a full-day tour from Kemer that includes pickup, lunch, and a mid-canyon swimming break.
Try Local Fish Restaurants at the Marina LOCAL TIP

Skip the hotel buffet at least once and eat at the fish restaurants around Kemer Marina. The catch is landed daily and you choose your fish from the display, then it's grilled whole with lemon, olive oil, and fresh salad.
