Pro tips to help you make a pick

Local secrets to save you time and money.

1

Arrive at Opening for the Shortest Queues

The most popular slides, Dawwama, Jebel Drop, and Bandit Bomber, develop 30 to 45-minute queues by noon. Gate opening is your best window. Arrive 15 minutes before the park opens, head straight to the Dawwama, then work through the top rides before the midday crowd. You can experience the top five rides queue-free in the first two hours.

2

Apply Reef-Safe Sunscreen Every Two Hours

The Abu Dhabi sun is intense. Even seasoned sun seekers underestimate the UV reflected off water. Apply waterproof, reef-safe SPF 50+ sunscreen 30 minutes before entering the park and reapply every two hours. Wear a rash guard for extended sessions. The park sells sunscreen but at premium prices.
3

Book a Cabana for Groups of Four or More

Cabanas provide shade, lockable storage, comfortable seating, and towels. That eliminates the need for individual lockers and repeated trips to the changing rooms. For groups of four or more, the cabana cost divided per person is often comparable to the cost of individual large lockers, while providing far more comfort.

4

Visit on a Weekday Between October and April

Weekdays during the cooler season mean pleasant 28 to 32 degree weather and significantly shorter ride queues. Think 5 to 10 minutes versus 30 to 45 minutes on weekends. Avoid UAE public holidays and school breaks in mid-December and March/April when the park reaches capacity. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days.
5

Combine with Ferrari World Using a Two-Park Pass

The two-park combo for Yas Waterworld plus Ferrari World saves AED 80 to 100 compared to separate tickets and is valid for two consecutive days. Spend the morning at outdoor Yas Waterworld when the sun is tolerable, then switch to the fully air-conditioned Ferrari World for the afternoon. The free Yas Express shuttle connects both parks in 5 minutes.

Interesting Facts (Fun Facts)

Discover hidden secrets and stories.

Yas Waterworld's Dawwama is the world's largest six-person tornado water coaster. Riders in a six-seat raft are funnelled through a 20-metre-wide funnel that simulates a tornado. The ride lasts over two minutes and combines high-speed drops, sharp spins, and near-vertical wall rides before a final plunge.
Book Yas Waterworld Tickets
The entire Yas Waterworld park is themed around the Emirati legend of the 'Lost Pearl', a young girl's quest to find a legendary pearl. This narrative threads through the park's architecture, ride names, and entertainment, making it the only waterpark in the region built entirely around a local folk story.
Yas Waterworld features five rides that can't be found anywhere else on the planet. They were custom-designed and engineered exclusively for the park. The Bandit Bomber is the world's only suspended roller coaster in a waterpark, where riders can drop water bombs and fire water cannons at swimmers below.
Explore Unique Rides
The Bubble's Barrel attraction generates the world's largest surfable sheet wave inside a waterpark, a 3-metre-high wave that allows professional and amateur surfers to ride continuously. FlowRider boards and bodyboards are provided free of charge, and instructors are available for beginners.
