Pro tips to help you make a pick

Local secrets to save you time and money.

1

Go in April to May for the Best Rapids

Spring snowmelt from the Taurus Mountains swells the Köprüçay River, turning Grade 2 rapids into Grade 3 and creating the most exciting rafting conditions of the year. By August, water levels drop and the ride is significantly calmer.
2

Sit at the Front for Maximum Splash

The front of the raft hits the rapids first and gets the biggest waves. If you want the full white-water experience, ask your guide to seat you up front. If you prefer to stay drier, the seats near the back offer a smoother ride.
3

Secure Your Belongings in the Lockers

Do not bring phones, wallets, or watches on the raft. Water splashes constantly, and there's a real chance of items falling into the river during rapids. Use the electronic lockers at the base camp — they're secure and included in the tour price.
4

Wear Water Shoes or Old Trainers

You'll need to walk on rocky riverbeds at launch and recovery points. Flip flops will wash off in the rapids, and bare feet hurt on the stones. Secure water shoes, reef shoes, or old trainers are the way to go.
5

Combine with Jeep Safari or Zipline

Most operators offer combo tours that add a jeep safari or zipline session to the rafting day. It's the same transport and region, so adding an activity costs only a fraction more than a standalone rafting ticket.

About Antalya Rafting

Köprülü Canyon is where most of Turkey's rafting happens, and Antalya sits right next to it. The Köprüçay River runs 14 kilometres through towering limestone walls, thick Mediterranean pine forest, and under ancient Roman bridges. The scenery alone would be worth the trip, but you also get proper white water.
The rapids grade between 2 and 3, which means enough splash and excitement for first timers without anything genuinely dangerous. Kids as young as six can join. Professional guides man every raft, full safety gear is provided, and between the rapids you get calm stretches where you can float, swim, jump off rocks, and just take in the canyon before the next set of white water hits.

Interesting Facts (Fun Facts)

Discover hidden secrets and stories.

Köprülü Canyon is 400 metres deep at its lowest point and was formed over 20 million years by the Köprüçay River slowly dissolving the soft limestone bedrock. The canyon walls contain fossilised shells and marine organisms from when the area was under the ancient Tethys Sea.

You'll raft directly under the Oluk Köprü, a perfectly preserved Roman bridge built in the 2nd century AD. This stone arch has survived earthquakes, floods, and 2,000 years of erosion, and it still spans the river as impressively as the day it was built.
The Köprüçay River is one of the cleanest waterways in Turkey. Its water is sourced from underground springs in the Taurus Mountains and is so clear that you can often see the riverbed 5–6 metres below while rafting through the calm sections.
Köprülü Canyon National Park is home to over 500 plant species, more than 80 bird species including golden eagles, and a population of wild boar. The rafting route doubles as an accidental wildlife safari.

Why visit Antalya Rafting?

Turkey's Most Famous Rafting Spot

Köprülü Canyon is Turkey's most popular and best organised rafting destination. Grade 2 to 3 rapids, ancient bridges, clear water, and a limestone canyon that drops 400 metres. You won't find that combination anywhere else on this side of the Mediterranean.

Safe for Beginners & Kids

Grade 2–3 rapids mean thrills without serious danger. Professional guides steer every raft, and full life jackets and helmets are mandatory. Children as young as 6 can participate, making it one of the most family-friendly adventure activities in the region.

History Meets Adventure

Not many rafting trips on earth let you paddle under a 2,000 year old Roman bridge. The historical context adds something you don't expect from an outdoor activity. You're literally floating through ruins.

Incredible Value — Everything Included

Your ticket covers hotel pick up and drop off, all equipment, a professional guide, 14 km of rafting, swimming and cliff jumping stops, and a riverside lunch. For the price, it's hard to beat as a full day out.

Rafting season runs from April through November. Peak rapids (highest water levels) are from April to mid-June due to spring snowmelt. Summer months (July–September) offer warmer water and gentler rapids, ideal for families. Hotel pick-ups begin at 08:00–08:30 AM, with on-water time from approximately 10:00 AM to 01:30 PM.

Full Safety Equipment
Life jackets, helmets, paddles, and splash jackets (for cooler months) are provided and mandatory for all participants. Equipment is inspected daily and meets international safety standards.
Changing Rooms & Secure Lockers
The base camp has changing rooms and electronic lockers for storing valuables, dry clothes, and car keys during your rafting run.
Riverside Restaurant & Lunch
Post-rafting lunch is served at a traditional riverside restaurant with seating on wooden platforms over the river. Freshly grilled trout, chicken, salads, and unlimited tea are the standard spread.
Action Photographers on the Route
Professional photographers are stationed at key rapids along the route, capturing every splash, scream, and paddle stroke. USB drives with your raft's photos and videos are available for purchase at the base camp after the run.

Limited Accessibility for Wheelchair Users

The rafting launch and recovery points involve uneven riverbank terrain that is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with upper-body strength and the ability to transfer into a raft may participate with crew assistance — contact the operator in advance.

Minimum Age 6 Years

Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult in the same raft. The shorter 7 km family route is recommended for children aged 6–10.

Swimming Ability Strongly Recommended

While life jackets are mandatory and guides are trained in river rescue, a basic ability to swim is strongly recommended. Non-swimmers are advised to take the calmer 7 km family route.

Not Recommended for Pregnant Women

Due to the physical jolts, cold water immersion, and distance from medical facilities, rafting is not recommended for pregnant women at any stage.
